Virshae uses established research and statistical methods to study, analyze, and recommend improvements to service deliveries in efforts to improve overall user satisfaction and efficiency.

Before coming to Penn, she worked for start-up technology companies as a UX/UI Designer and Researcher, collaborating and supporting cross-functional teams to build out mobile apps and virtual reality gaming systems. Prior to embarking on a career in the UX industry, she worked as a master's level mental health clinician in both outpatient and K-12 settings. She trained and managed with a multidisciplinary team that sustained a therapeutic caseload of 20 to 25 students, and she developed or expanded course content and assessments for online learning management system.

Virshae holds a B.A. in Social Relations with a minor in Psychology from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania (the first historically black college and university). She holds an M.A. in Education Counseling Psychology from Temple University and a Post Graduate Certification in Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience from Drexel University
